Advanced Pathology Solutions: Excellence in GI Pathology

At Advanced Pathology Solutions (APS), we deliver the highest-quality gastrointestinal pathology reports available. Our reports go beyond words on a page — they provide a visual map of the digestive tract showing exactly where each biopsy was taken, with clear designations for inflammation, malignancy, and dysplasia. This approach helps patients understand their results visually while giving clinicians a concise summary of critical findings.

To ensure urgency is never missed, all cancer diagnoses are flagged with “CANCER DETECTED” in bold red at the top of the report, immediately alerting everyone involved in the patient’s care. Each report also includes representative histology images, a valuable tool shown to improve both patient acceptance and understanding of their diagnosis, while enhancing clinician-patient communication.

    Fellowship-Trained Expertise

Every APS pathologist has completed a GI pathology fellowship, bringing subspecialty expertise in inflammatory bowel disease and neoplasia. Our on-site laboratory offers a full panel of immunohistochemical stains and chromogenic in situ hybridization, enabling precise diagnosis of conditions such as autoimmune gastritis and evaluation for viral infections like CMV and Herpes.

For all newly diagnosed colorectal cancers, we perform universal Lynch syndrome screening in line with NCI guidelines. Through our molecular pathology partners, we also provide a complete suite of molecular tests including KRAS, BRAF, NRAS, PIK3CA, c-KIT, HER2 FISH, and others. In addition, we offer next-generation sequencing panels such as OncoDefender, which help stratify Stage I/II colorectal cancers into high- and low-risk categories, guiding prognosis and recurrence risk assessment.

    Dedicated Service and Communication

At APS, customer service is as important as diagnostic accuracy. You will be contacted personally by phone for every positive cancer case and for any unusual or unexpected findings, ensuring you have the most up-to-date information when managing your patient’s care.

Every report includes the signing pathologist’s direct email, and we encourage open communication with physicians — and even with patients who may have questions about their results. Our goal is to be your partner in delivering the highest standard of pathology, fostering collaboration and trust at every step.
